I had a sky account last year but canceled after the 12 months. Since then they have been ringing me up with offers if I sign back. I have no interest really but they rang me today and offered free sky for six months with no contract.

Any else get an offer like that? Seems a bit odd offering me free sky for 6 months without any guarantee of making any money out of it. They must be getting desperate.

I would think you would most likely have to agree to a new 12 month contract

Any money is better than no money,a mixture of Summer cancellations coupled with recession cancellations are leading to Sky offering deals like this.No doubt other providers of pay services are also feeling the pinch.

I got the same offer last night 6 months free no contract. They are even sending out a new viewing card as I cannot find the original one.

Aparently its got to do with how many customers are on there books , thats what they told be when I rang to cancel they gave me 50 of credit straight away and said I could cancel after that if I wished, he said it was better for sky to have the custtomers on there books than not have them at all .

Nope no 12 month contract. I have even changed address and they still want to give it to me. I have to provide direct debit detail alright but they won't be charged until the six months are up.

so if you cancel after 6 months then it's totally free?

Do they give you a new sky box?

Yep completely free. I still had the old sky box lying around so it wasn't an issue.

You probably need to give 30 days notice or something, so would need to cancel in advance of the 6 months, possibly before month 5.

have been on half price for 3 years nearly. I just cant get rid of it as they always offer it to me and I like having skysports1 only for the soccer. Not fusseda bout golf or rugby. A neighbour did get half price last week so that seems to be happening but only after an initial offer of 25% off. He wasnt offered the 6 months free.

what package do u get half price? did your neighbour cancel and then wait for them to offer. how long were they waiting? I just have the entertainment extra but going to try squeeze something else out of them....

I think it was the entertainment extra package(35euro) he went through cancellations and at the end of the call he was offered half price after the person on the phone said they would see what they could do when they realised he was intent on cancellation.

I get the old legacy 6 packs of (now the 35 euro pack) and sky sports 1 for 23.50 a month. Usual price is 47 or if you are to subscribe now it would cost 55euro for sky sports 1 so I think a very good deal for me at 23.50 a month.

Sky rang me just now. Everything free for 6 months. No contract. Just give them 31 days notice to cancel.

    Had cancelled last December.

I was with Sky for the first year, year two I haggled half price for 6 months. After 5 months I attempted to get the deal to continue but they were not having it. They even sent me a letter with a cut off date.

Luckily I was away during the cut-off date, but I did miss some recordings.

When I got back I decided to ring them and see what the best offer they had. I had been cut off for a few weeks. After putting me on hold they offered me 6 months free, no contract, but wanted my bank details.

I am on entertainment extra (35 Euro) for nothing per month.

I made a note to ring them after 5 months to see what the offer will be then.

Anyone any idea what offer they will go for then? Last time after offering half price they were not for budging. Would they go for half price again?
