Ritter Solar tubes?

had a guy to the door offering Ritter solar tubes. We have a semi-D in Dublin about 1600sqft (gas heating and water) with a west facing roof and was curious if anyone knows much about how useful they are. I looked at it about 10 year ago and thought it wasn't worth it at the time but the tech may have improved in the meantime and energy costs have certainly risen.
The guy mentioned an electricity saving but wasn't sure why this would be? a pump is still needed for the radiators?

    any thoughts welcome

I got those ritter panels in last March for heating the water only (not central heating). Semi-D house facing West/South-West.Very effective once there is light. Have not had to use gas to heat the water since installation. In fact, in the really bright days, the water in the new boiler has been above 90C!

Same as every other solar system installed correctly so.
Might want to fit a head dump as your solar is running at very high temperatures in the tank, check your pressure/temperature release valve as they open at 95 degrees if one is fitted, make sure it's piped out side to a drain.
Have seen a few pumping stations melt the controls with such high temperatures running through them ..

If that's a pressurised hw cylinder, 90C is EXTREMELY dangerous! It should be interlocked with solar pump with a temperature stat set to 65C/high limit set to max 85C.
