I'm interested in applying for a nursing course in Scotland, Glasgow or Edinburgh but have no idea where to even start

What requirements do you need? Is the leaving cert enough?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Look up the UCAS website, all the information is there :) also The Student Room website is excellent! It's a UK site with loads of information and forums for each university :) I've applied to Edinburgh for psychology for this September! Good luck with the exams! :)
Oh and if you've any questions feel free to ask, I'll help as best I can!

    Thank's Bubbles.

I emailed both Edinburgh and Glasgow Uni's and Edinburgh got back to me today and said there are places left for all nursing courses except midwifery. I was linked by them to the website you suggested but before I apply i would like to know if I am eligible with just my leaving cert done? I did it 5 years ago but didn't get enough points for nursing here which is why I'm going the mature student route but I'm not sure if that will be enough to qualify for a place in Scotland?

    Thanks again.

EDIT: I've just looked up the semester schedules for nursing over there and I've realized now why it's 3 years there instead of the 4 years here. In 1st year they go from September to July and in 2nd & 3rd year they go from September to August. Don't think I would handle that too well. Only being able to come home for a few weeks a year.

Oh wow yeah that does sound intense! Are all the uni courses like that do you know? Surely there is some uni offering the 4 year course that's the same as Ireland structure wise?

I'm afraid I don't know the entry requirements or how it works with the leaving cert it's different to Ireland so you'll have up ask the uni to outline the requirements for the course you're interested in! I didn't get enough points for psychology in Ireland last year so I did a one year PLC in psychology and my grades in that will be the deciding factor if I've gotten a place in Edinburgh, not my leaving cert points. However, on my UCAS application I was required to list my leaving cert subjects and grades, so perhaps they were somewhat taken into account when I was offered a conditional place! But every uni and course will be different, especially coming from Ireland with a different qualification than they have in the UK.

I suggest you email the uni about it :)
