(Ignoring all books, just going by the TV series)

Ned’s death was hard. He was a decent man, in a corrupt city. But there was always a sense that there could be payback coming.

But is it just me, or was Rob’s death far worse? More brutal. The betrayal far more personal. The lasting effects greater.

Neds death was hard to watch, but Rob’s was gut wrenching in its scope.

Sorry for the thread title - wasn't thinking - got very much caught up in the "excitement" of the conversation in other thread. :(

    Sorry!

Delete the thread. The title even though it's censored suggests something big happens.

Delete the thread. The title is a massive spoiler for season 1!

Is there really a need to spoiler something that was aired two years ago?

Youd be surpised how many people haven't seen it yet.

    :/

If I had never seen the show and decided, 3 seasons in, that I wanted to start watching it, the last thing I'd be doing is reading forums about it. If someone ruins it for themselves in that way then they only have themselves to blame!

I got lambasted for "spoilering" something in Les Mis. A story which has been in print since 1862 and running as a musical for 26 years. And the item I "spoiled" is the name of a song which is actually listed on the back of the soundtrack.

The constant cries of "spoiler" for absolutely everything are getting extremely tiresome...

I do agree with you to honest but people are stupid.

People may visit the forum after the first 8 or 9 episodes and then the end is spoiled.

It also shows up in the new posts so its only the title that's spoilery

The whole point of a separate forum is so that people can watch/read at their own pace and discuss only what they've watched so far. If people are going to act the bollocks with major spoilers you might as well just have one thread for the series; then people would know to stay away.

Spoilers in thread titles just shouldn't happen imo. Just call it "Season 1 finale vs season 3 finale".

Personally I wouldn't enter this forum if I hadn't watched the show but that doesn't mean somoene who's halfway through season 1 and does want to discuss it shouldn't be allowed to do so not to mention tha fact that it will come up on the front page of boards.ie.

And tbf it's not really a long running show yet at all, I know plenty people who want to watch it but haven't got around to it yet, we're not talking about a show that finished a decade ago that's become so ingrained in popular culture that pretty much everyone knows the end regardless, it's still on going.

If we applied that line of thinking in here the book readers should have been able to tell everyone about the events of the last episode ages ago, sure they've been out for ages, how have you not read them yet?

I only started watching a few weeks ago and I completely avoided this forum until i had caught up, same for Breaking Bad although i still see this forum as being a bit risky due to the books!

Ned knew it was coming, locked in the dungeon with the knowledge he had on King Jofferys true father he would have lost his head either way, episode 9 however happened out of the blue, or should that be red:)

Except the thread's title shows up on the main boards.ie page so these people won't have to go out of their way to have Ned's death spoiled. Thread should be re-named "Major Character Deaths" or something less specific.

I totally agree with you, as much as Ned's death was a shock due to the fact that he was an honorable man and a major character in the the first season as much as Rob's death was horrific due to the fact that he wasn't the only one to die, his pregnant wife, mother and banner man were dead as well. Ned's death did last few seconds only.......Rob's dead was few minutes.

Why does this thread exist? No one is even discussing the topic title...which gives away that a major character dies in episode 3x09 never-mind about the Ned stuff.

I really really hate when people do this kind of ****e. The twists and turns in these books are incredible. Some people must think they're the last to read them or something.

    I've read them all
