Illness Benefit

My doctor has signed me off work for 2 weeks:(, the company I work for will only pay me for 1 of the 10 days I am missing. Can I apply for illness benefit to cover the other 9 days. Not sure if I can do this or do you need to be out sick for a longer period of time to claim illness benefit. Thanks in Advance Clashmore

You can apply for IB for the period you are not fit for work. You won't be paid for the first 3 days but will be paid for the remainder based on a 6 day basis including Saturdays.
