Im BM for my sister next year and there are 4 of us. 2 are a size 8/10 () and my sister and myself aren't! Every shop we have been to seems to only cater for small sizes!!! Lots of dresses we couldnt try on- how can we pick a dress if we can't try it on?

Anyone else found this or has it just been our bad luck?

Are you just trying wedding shops?
I'll be hitting the high street with my BMs when we go looking for dresses, Debenhams etc.

We have tried those but the styles available just don't suit all 4 of us.

what myself and my fiancee are doing is simply going through images on google images - just search bridesmaid dresses size (whatever) and colour (whatever) and (whatever) style and browse through.... if you see one you like ...click on the link and visit their website.

then try find a shop that is local to try it on and purchase in shop or online.

    best of luck

ps. you dont all have to have the same style of dress ...same colour is perfect - and whatever style suits your body (most bigger girls prefer to hide their shoulders - a small cardigan or pashmeena work here if the dresses are exposing the shoulders.

V-neck or plunging necklines may not suit due to bust size, halternecks similarly ....

one strap, two strap, emperor line/cut, chiffon, etc etc .... google works to find what you like and there are plenty of blogs to read about finding a dress that suits your shape.

p.ps. be careful when ordering online - some of the very nice and cheap websites send their stuff from China - so you sometimes end out getting caught for import tax (approx 25% of the cost of the dress)

Yes we are doing that however the shops only carry sizes 8/10 and the odd 12. We aren't buying online - far too many past mistakes with online dresses!

I found the opposite. Even trying on wedding dresses, most of the ones I tried on were too big so had to be pinned and held to show the proper shape. I'm a 14 and had tried 4 shops.
