Been looking at a number of Ford Focus's the last few weeks, I'm relatively inexperienced with dealing in private cars of any real value, what would be the main questions and things to look out for?

Also anyone any experience with these cars? or engines? anything in particular I should find out before viewing or on viewing?

Looking at this car in particular

Service history, backed up with receipts.

Ok, the ad does mention full Ford service history, but I presume proof is obviously a must.

Saw you edited out the DPF part, was that a mistake? are DPF's more hassle than they're worth?

The 110bhp engine has much better performance with no real penalty in fuel consumption.

Zetec spec or higher is worth a bit extra too.

    I didn't know it was the 90 BHP to be honest, so style = 90 BHP, Zetec = 110 and Titanium = 115BHP ?

No. You could get a Style (import) with 110bhp, or a Zetec with 90.

95/115bhp is the current model only.

So how can you tell what BHP that is in the ad?

Cartell? or could you tell from any obvious features?

    You can't.

p.s. Ask the seller. Confirm it on the VLC.

I have a 2007 90bhp and it doesn't have a dpf I am fairly sure none of the mk2/2.5 have a dpf but I could be wrong. Tbh I didn't think the 90 was that much slower than the 110 bhp. But then I've never driven a 110 so I wouldn't really be able to compare the two.

I have and there's a very appreciable difference.

Confirmed, It is the 90 BHP model,

Is this car worth about 9500 on the road?
