The Irish Developer

Its in the papers almost daily how a former once revered developer has fled the country declared bankruptcy and miraculously set up a new company with assets in a matter of months overseas.
I for one think these prats have gotten off far too lightly,to much of the hatred has been focused on the banks/govt and these vipers slipped under the storm leaving the public their debts.
I am sure we all see it in our own towns/cities the developers who are supposedly banckrupt are still driving the flash car and eating in the finer establishments.
Country's a joke, not much has changed from the times of the gentry to now only the debts on the masses have increased.
    Really pisses me off

Just getting it off my chest having seen one of these nama muppets this morning park on a double yellow line with his range rover sport and hold up the whole traffic to allow him 5mins in the shop.

How do you know he's not just a car enthusiast with an ordinary job?

I agree OP these cu*ts should be shot. They think theyre a law above everyone else. Im shocked how lightly all these people have gotten away. I would have thought the politicians/bankers/developers would have at least been assaulted by now

It a annoys me a little, but I don't let it get to me because I know there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

I think it would take people going hungry for genuine reform to happen in this country. Sure people are out of pocket because of these arseholes but there are very few people who genuinely can't afford to feed their kids because of it(yes they do exist, but they are a tiny minority). So people just aren't effected by it strongly enough to get off their arses and demand change.

The people in power will protect those who helped to get them there. Until we see a total overhaul of how the system works the same old cronyism will prevail.

I totally agree but isnt it sad that it will take that much for anything to happen. .. these people are on huge salaries and are laughing at us. They know they cant be touched. Its very sad that people cant get off their arses and push people out

Really you should be complaining about bad parking then, yeah?

A range rover sport is not a flash car. It is the poor relation of the standard range rover. People seem to think that the sport is a super version but they are commonly diesel commercials.
I do agree though that these bsnkrupts should not have the means to buy a bike.

You don't have to be an ex developer to be an inconciderate driver.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

How do we know he was buying an iceberg?

Could have been getting himself a Loop the Loop for all we know.

    I blame the bondholders.

It's not even necessarily that people can't be bothered, what you are asking people to do is try to tear down a system that they heavily rely on. The people most effected by the banking collapse are all heavily reliant on social welfare. If the system gets shaken up to the degree it needs to be to see real change there would likely be sever knock backs to how the system works, leaving them in a very vulnerable position.

You're right OP. They should be brought to justice, I don't believe it's fair to be "bankrupt" and somehow have the ability to set up a new company/business etc etc.

On the other hand, I have been reading this depressing crap for 5 years now. How long more must I endure this?

I am just tired of being reminded of the depressing facts of what happened over the past decade. I don't believe it's going to change anything.

Hell yeah OP, they're giving us Irish software developers a bad name

Of course they can. That was the whole reason Nama was set up, to allow 'the boyz club' to be able to walk away, while everyone else gets sucked for their bills.
