driveing test and car question

    okay bit od an odd question here but im going to buy a 1996 toyota cynos tomorrow, now as far as im aware they have a 4 speed gearbox. will that matter if i want to do my driveing test in it?

    No once it's legal, tax ,insurance and nct. There is no spec regarding no: of gears

    The 4 speed cynos is an automatic. So if you did your test in this you would only be licensed to drive automatic cars until such time as you resat your test with a manual.

    I must have misunderstood that question as I took it to mean 4 gears. If it's an automatic then I fully agree with your comment and thanks for the correction

    as far as the seller told me, 4 speed manual. i think i read up that automatic was optional? i could be wrong

    anyway i ended up not even seeing the car, was on the way up and the seller decided they didnt want to sell it
