Looks like the knew they were going into liquidation and fitted them in that state without giving a s**t. A handle-less window, that is a new one to me. I wouldn't be surprised if the handle-less window is just stuck shut with a wee bit of silicone, hopefully there is a hinge on it.

Moved to the Construction forum. If the original supplier has gone into liquidation, then there is nothing you can really do.

    hi op,
It unfortunate that the installer has gone to the wall, but there are a lot of reputable companies still trading that will provide an estimate for the modification you require to the window installed.
It looks like a common enough window profile / type. So given that you have a casement opening that was 'supposed to open' it shouldn't be a huge job for another co. to alter it or provide correct seals and secure it into the frame permanently. It won't be as good as a manufactured fixed glazed pane, but not far off if done correctly.

I'd make a good few calls and see who is interested in providing a robust solution to the problem for a price that's acceptable to you. At least you'd have the full information on whats feasible, and just stand above any sales 'patter' as most will want to sell you a new window, just say that's not going to happen - come up with a better solution.
