i have an Ego C twist and thought i would have a go at a drip setup , am a bit confused as to what i need ,
    I think i need an atomizer,cartomiser , drip tip.
At the moment i am using an Kanger pro tank which is good.
I have a lot of juice to try out so am thinking that dripping is the way to go ?
Links would be appropriated still very new to all this ;-)

Little bit of a learning curve perhaps...but the A7 is a cracking litle dripper and looks good on an Ego twist.

    http://www.vaperus.ie/atomisers/56-a7-atomizer-rebuildable.html

Just add some wick and wire, watch a few YouTube vids and you should be good to go. Loads of help on here if you get stuck too :)

    Wick - http://www.vaperus.ie/rebuilding-supplies/263-fibreglass-wick.html

    Wire - http://www.vaperus.ie/coil-wicks/264-kanthal-wire.html#/size-0_2

The A7 comes with wick and wire if memory serves but good to get a bit of spare gear especially if you are going to be footling about with it...which you will be.

And that's the full setup then ?

Same here, not tried it before and ordered a Smok mini rda last week. It wasn't vaping very well though, so I took it apart and tried messing about with the second wick and coil that came with. Well, I failed miserably :D Idon't know, I have fumbly fingers or something. I ordered some wick and kanthal wire and an igo S too, not got them yet with the bank hol. Determined to build at least one decent dripper.

I have some nice drip tips though, even if I fail. They look smart of the vivi nova tanks.

If you're new to it all, like I was, the A7 is hard to wick. The IGO-L looks a bit odd on the twist, but it's very easy to wick.

The trick to recoiling the A7 is to get the holes in the post lined up on the diagonal across the airhole, you can put your wick/coil in so that the wire ends naturally point towards the holes in the posts. Kind of hard to explain put I can put a pic up later if you want? I use 2mm wick doubled over to have 4 tails which touch the base if that's any help.

Also remember to leave yourself plenty of extra wire so you can double it back when you're trying to guide it through the hole.

A smoktech RDA arrived this morning with a mad looking wick so I'll probably rip that out later on. Has anyone drilled a hole in them and if so what size drill bit did you use? The draw is way too tight, not much vapour production.

Start at 1.2mm and go up in 0.1mm increments (if necessary).

Don't make a total artyeva out of yourself.

Digby is the A7 king I think......he's been using it pretty exclusively for a good while now.

just one question how long will a coil last ? i vape about 4 mm a day i think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

Depends on the juice and what heat you vape at. A tobacco juice would kill it in 2-3 days, maybe less, same for some of the sweet juices (Highbrow Vapors are a know enemy of the coil).

Having said that, Pluid was pretty sweet but in the 4 days I was vaping it, it had little to no effect on the coil. Apart from making mixed berries taste Pluid-y for the next week.

Silica can be washed (run under a tap, still in the atty), flamed and dry-burned and used for a couple more days.
Cotton can be slid out, dry-burn and blow the gunk from the coil, replace cotton.
Mesh can be washed, dry-burned, used for months.

Was actually just looking at a vid of a guy making one with stainless steel mesh, think i could do that.
Am pretty lazy so anything that lasts for a few months is for me i think ;-).
I vape mostly fruit tasting juice watermelon and Apple my top two at the moment but saying that cappuccino is fast becoming a daily vape for me

Did you like that italian cappuccino? I thought it was nice at first, then thought it too sweet when I tried it later. I go off flavours by the week though, I went through a right fruity phase - now it's mostly tobacco flavours and the odd menthol.

Looks straightforward but its actually difficult enough to get right i.e no hotspots. That said, if you get it set up, it'll last for ages and ages.

Going to do a bit more research on it before i go and spend more money ,
good job i am saving up to E90 a week by not smoking i guess ;-)

Just a heads up...when you do make that pefect coil...do not, under any circumstances, expect anyone else in your life to get excited by showing them.
They WILL look at you like you are crazy!

My wife has thankfully learned to tolerate this behaviour and now pretends to be as pleased as I am...and I pretend to not know this :o

They should start up a support group. My missus would join in a flash! She's sick to the teeth with me talking vape-shtuff. Bless 'er, she just smiles and nods, but I can sense the grinding teeth! :D

We are all just misunderstood !

Lads! haha you're making me laugh. My missus was standing there smiling (laughing) at my while I was fiddling around with my juice bottles today. I looked at her oblivious... What? (I said) ... "Your hobby" She said while smiling at me on the edge of laughing.

I so hope you mean just that and it's not some unimaginable euphamism...I mean...making your wife watch...the horror!

She's not my wife and the other night she actually said to me that I smoke too much. (she meant vape too much.) What can I say, I was drinking and chain vaping and though she was asleep and had the room covered in clouds.

Apologies for the 'wife' reference. Wouldn't wish to give her any ideas.

My 2 igo-s attys arrived today, along with a nice roll of wick + wire ... no excuses now. I have to build one at least right before running out! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

OK, one hour later, and I have successfully built one that works fine! yay! :D [it didn't take an hour obviously, I'm just posting an hour on]

I wrapped the wire 5 times, well, seems more like 4.5 as one isn't full, it leads the wire out - and I'm getting 2.1 ohms. If I wanted lower I guess you wrap one less? It showed 1.8 at first, but one coil wasn't lighting up, so I fiddled them apart a bit then got 2.1 ...

It was a lot easier than I thought. No idea how I ballsed up the last one I tried. The wires cracked and fell apart, couldn't get them tight in together - this time I did use a burner and ran it along the wire and the wick before building. I guess this helped a lot?
