Hi I recently bought this laptop. I want to put an ssd into it. I heard a fresh install is best but it didn't come with any discs. I have a copy of a retail Windows 7 Ultimate that I can put in it. Will this ssd do and do I need anything else with it like cables or spacers?…

Do I need to do anything with BIOS when loading windows?

Should be just a straight swap with your old hard drive ,
Bios set to boot from DVD rom and off you go , the old hard drive you can format and use as you wish.
Check out the 2.5 hard drive enclosures on Amazon and you have a good portable hard drive
