Am I paying too much USC?

    Hey,

I recently started a new job and I get paid monthly, I was trying to figure out how much take home pay I would come away with weekly after taxes and so forth. I found a take home pay calculator online which calculated that I should be paying €1279 annually or €106 a month. For some reason I'm paying €163 a month. This has happened on both my first and second months payslips. Has anyone any idea why I'm paying more than the €106 a month.

    Thanks

are you been taxed on emergency basis? if you are, your USC is treated similarly, in that you get charged a flat rate of 7% of your wages until you get sorted.

Hi Denis, thanks for your response. It seems that they may well be applying the 7% flat rate, buy why? I do not know. For the first 2 months I haven't paid tax, I think this is because of something to do with tax credits or something or another.
