Hi Pabloh, thanks for the post.

It would be fair to say that Onkyo have had a few issues with HDMI output on the 515's but given the number that we have sold, the failure rate is a very small percentage. They also don't really have too many other issues other than this so it's not something that I would have an issue with.

Pioneer 922's are very rare to come back faulty except for some networking issues but the Onkyo would be more popular and with the features that it has, it tends to be a lot more popular and better value for money.

The sound from the Onkyo tends to lend itself to a wider range of speakers whereas the Pioneer is a little fussier and I personally think the Onkyo outperforms the Pioneer especially for music but movies too.

Given the choice of the 2, I would stick with the Onkyo as the performance for the price is superb.

I hope this helps but if we can help any further, please let us know.

Thanks, how much for the Onkyo delivered to Dublin?

Also is there a (low priced) sub you would recommend

    Hi Pabloh.

The Euro price including delivery would be €320.

We also offer the 5 year guarantee so if you do have any concerns you can cover the receiver for all parts and labour for €30 for the 5 years and if it doesn't go faulty you can claim the money back at the end of the 5 years.

The sub to go for is the Tannoy SFX sub which is £119.95.

    https://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=930&Mode=0&productid=1176&Results=true&keys=tannoy%20sfx

There are cheaper ones than this like the Yamaha YSTFSW050 at £79.95 but to be honest, this is only 50watts and is very likely to under impress if you are expecting a lot from it. It really only copes well in very small rooms. The Tannoy is well worth the extra. I'm out of stock of the Yamaha at the moment but they are available from the main warehouse.

I have both of these in stock and including delivery the total for the 2 would be €465 or £382 or €495 / £407 with the 5 year.

We can have these down to you by tomorrow if ordered before 1:30pm today.

Hope this helps but let me know what you think.

    Very pleased with the amp.
One problem , I cannot seem to update the firmware.
I tried with the supplied usb stick - it wont work.
I tried over the network - wont work either.
    Any advice?
    Thanks

    HiPabloh999.

The supplied USB is blank I think. THey supply in so yuo can go onto their website and download it on the USB stock and then update the amp.

If you have already tried this I'll give them a call to see why this would not work.

The supplied usb was not blank, but it didn't work anyway so I went online to get the latest firmware. That wont work either.

When I go into the update f/w option it just displays the current firmware with no option to update?

    Pabloh999.

I haven't forgot about you. I'm waiting on our guy at Onkyo giving me a call back.

I call him first thing tomorrow again and get back to you ASAP.
