Tá mé ag tnúth le do litir - I am awaiting your letter.

Is mise le meas- formal sign-off( better than slán go fóill or whatever it is)

Put your letter into a paragraph for each point.

Make a short plan at the top of the page.

Layout (this is obvious but you might not know this.)

Number on this line. ADDRESS LINE 1, Town on this line. ADDRESS LINE 2, County on this line. ADDRESS LINE 3.
    *skip a line*
Date like this, on right: 24ú Meitheamh

    A Eoin,

    Alt1

    Alt 2

    Alt 3

Try writing each point like you are doing a debate- "Ar an gcéad dul síos, labhróidh mé faoi an Teastais Shóisearaigh. Is fuath liom an T. S. mar cuireann sé a lán [whatever stress is in Irish] orainn. Chuir na múinteoirí scanradh orm ach ba mhaith liom inis mise "NÁ BÍ BUARTHA"

Came up with that on the spot so there's bound to be mistakes. That's just a point/alt and you still need to do about triple that. I also find that alt short so...

Just don't panic whatever you do ;)

    Beginning
Tá súil agam go bhfuil tú i mbarr na sláinte - I hope you are well
Táim fíorbhuíoch as ucht do litreach - I'm very grateful for your letter
Beatha agus sláinte ó... - Greetings from...
Tá brón orm nár scríobh mé níos luaithe - I am sorry I have not written sooner.
Cén chaoi a bhfuil sibh go léir? - how are you all?

    Ending
Feicfidh mé thú i gceann míosa- I'll see you in a month
Abair le do dheirfiúr/dheartháir go raibh mé ag cur a t(h)uairisce - tell your sister/brother that i was asking for them.
Caithfidh mé slán a fhágáil anois, tá obair le déanamh agam - I have to say goodbye now, I have work to do.
Caithfidh mé imeacht anois - i have to go now
Scríobh ar ais chugam go luath- write back to me soon
