Any danger of ewes coming in heat??

Usually have rams kept separate to ewes all summer but due to circumstances this year have 2 rams in with 2 different bunches of ewes and lambs.
March lambing flock....noticed one of the rams sniffing after a ewe the other day....is there any chance ewes could come into heat at this time of year?.I know a lot of people never bother splitting rams from ewes at all until pre tipping time.Had to keep these 2 rams separate from other rams as they fight with other rams, and one killed a ram last year!
Any replies from anyone who has had ewes come in heat out of season appreciated.

    depends on the breed,

quite normal for ewes to have "cuckoo" lambs ie lambs conceived around the time the cuckoo is heard especially with weather of the last couple of weeks

Not sure about tipping in may buy have had accidental lambs in July August and September in the past so be careful!
Long days this time of year might prevent it though
