will a fox tackle a mink trap??

checked my traps this morn and one was all pulled out and throwing 4/5 ft from where it was set, no damage or anything needless to say triggered, just wondered would it be a fox or badger. could find no deffinitive tracks just some broken scrub leading in from far side.

not to worried just curious really

yes they most certainly will. mate of mine caught a fox in one even. how he got into it the whole i dont know but i wasnt believing him until i seen the pic! i like to pin my traps to ground if i can.

had a mink cage totally destroyed 1 time, must of been a badger with the damaged that had been carried out on it.

Is there otters around mate?
Otters will kill mink if given half the chance.

I have a mink/squirrel trap and it was chained to a peg a few feet away. Kept having to reset the trap every day as every time I went to check it , it was about 5-6 feet or more from where I had it pegged and the peg was fully out of the ground. One morning I checked the trap and found a big dog fox with his head caught in the trap door and he was walking backwards shaking and jumping to try free himself. 36g of BB's put a stop to it fairly quick

there used to be otters around the lake and stream iit set on but havent herd or seen them in years, i think they moved about 3 miles down stream to a bigger river it conects to

Could be one that hangs about the area like a big male and mink is in his territory
