Hi guys was just off the phone with my Dad and you he has a major problem with his car

Its a 06 BMW 320D with 260,000 KM on it we have had the car from new

Ok the problem with the car is that there is a yellow triangle with a line or a dot i am not to shore about witch one it is.

The car cant go faster then 80KM a hour he was telling me

What he is thinking its something to do with the suspension in the back and thats why the car will not go faster then 80KM a hour

There about a mouth ago the parking sensors in the back stopped working so i dont no if that might be linked with the problem

Any help i would be delighted with it as what gos wrong always has to go wrong on the bank holiday weekend :/

Sounds like the car is in "limp mode" where the ECU limits the speed of the car to prevent you from doing any damage.

If you scroll through the menu, it should give you a code which can help you to diagnose the exact fault (using the up/down button on the left indocator stalk). Google the code and you'll have your diagnosis.

Don't think it's a suspension fault since they don't usually throw up errors like that.

Post a picture of the warning lights. My first thought was the hydro control unit but that fault doesn't restrict speed.

Yes. Even a flat tyre (or partially deflated tyre) throws a yellow warning light on the 3 series

That is probably a generic warning light. You will need to have the car plugged into a diagnostic computer to get an idea of where the problem is.

    Got the problem fixed after.

Turns out the tyres on the back where destroyed on the inside with a zig zag wear on it. They where nankang tyres and was the 2nd time it happened to the back tyres and the car gets tracked every time there changed

Replaced the back Tyres with 2 new ones car is driving like new again

Did you check whats causing them to wear and get damaged like that?
