Short cut grass, and generally lawn grass is a different (wrong) type of grass.

It would need to be baled straight away also to keep fresh afaik.

You stupid Jackeens, don't you realise that grass has to be sealed in an airtight pit after cutting. The animals won't eat butyric acid silage.

brother was cutting hes and throwing it into a diet feeder with the neighbours, it all helps! ye cant feed it to cows as they could abort from neaspora

    No thanks OP

Shannon airport allowed 300 acres of their land to be baled.

I didn't see the boyos in Dublin airport making the same gesture.

I think grass cut by lawnmower has residue from the petrol/exhaust all over it making it poisonous. (Not certain.)

I was wondering the same as the op, I am not entirely convinced by a lot of the answers. If airport grass is ok for animals why not county council urban green area cutting? There is an area beside my house that no one goes on except the grass cutter, it must be an acre at least.

They did and it's not as simple as that.

The length of grass at airports is hugely important, it's not just any field. We had a huge rise in birdstrikes on aircraft last year after grass was cut.

It's Neasporo that's the problem. It's carried in dog shyte and if a cow eats she while in calf, she can abort. If she doesn't abort, her calf can become infected and if female, she will abort and so on. It can't be vaccinated against and is a the beast will be a life long carrier.

The grass that the dog shiite on will also be contaminated for years so that's where the danger comes from. Too much fresh cut grass could also affect cattle in other ways like Grass Tetany.

It would solve a lot of problems but farmers can't take the chance.

Of course they're not cutting the grass. The idiots are probably trying to smoke it.

Source and quality could not be guaranteed.
Any Ragworth within would also make it poisonous.
