TG4 Player - Possible to get a full episode?

I couldn't find any dedicated thread for TG4 player, so i hope this is the right section.

I'm trying to get my Aunt episodes of Ros Na Rún on TG4 Player, she also wants to watch a few other Programmes, but so far they only seem to host half episodes.
?
If i right click on the source, it says they use Brightcove for streaming, who seem to have a load of well known customers.

Why do TG4 only host 1/2 episodes? I think i found 1 full episode out of 8 so far. It's ridiculous, more annoying than not being able to watch any episodes.

Is it a money/cost of hosting issue? Which wouldn't make any sense either..

Anyway, is this a "bug" and is there any way around it, to get the full episodes from the player, or even a way to get the second half? (First half in some cases.)

I checked, and it's the same with Aifric.
I can't find any Garraí Glas.

Why bother having a player.. :mad:

I just tried Ros na Rún - Episode:72 (1/2) now

when it finished it immediately started into Ros na Rún - Episode:72 (2/2).


I never watch TG4 Player. I just tried it in response to your post.

It worked with Aifric too.

You don't have to watch the whole programme. Just move the timer forward with your mouse

Thanks, After i read your post, i thought that episode was an exception.

It turns out they don't work properly on the Irish TV player, and when i tried them on the website, they only half played because of Adblock. I had to unblock TG4, but then the 2nd half didn't play until i turned off adblock altogether, brightcove didn't matter as an exception.

I tried the App again. No luck.

I'll have to hook a Laptop up to her TV for her.

Aific is all over the place, in no order. Garraí Glas isn't there at all.
She'll have to make do.

Just to add. If you search for Garraí Glas - they have episodes 4 5 6 7 8 & 9 available.

As for Aifric they seem to have episodes 3 4 , 7 8 & 9.

Thanks. I ended up going to an unmerciful amount of hassle..

She started playing the sympathy card..
She's out of Hospital, and I wouldn't be able to get to her until Tomorrow to plug in a laptop to TV.
So i had to download everything to my laptop. (I was logged into her Android TV)
Downloaded all episodes that were available on the player, and streamed the first two to her from here.
Now i've got a load of Ros na Rún/Aifric/Garraí Glas clogging up laptop hard drive.

Stitched a load of halves together.
I'm pushing them through now and deleting them as i go.

TG4/RTE player on/through Android is terrible.
