Lately while driving there is a noise in the steering. It can also be heard on rough roads. The car passed the NCT in the last month and had new drop links and rear wishbone bushes fitted before the test.

It only seems to happen when driving even very slowly. No noise when you turn the wheel while parked. It sounds like its coming from both sides of the car. Top mount bearings?? Or would/should I hear them when parked up too?

I plan to get a better look over the weekend but anything to look for would be a help.

Had it up on stands today. No sign of anything out of place...

Not likely but not entirely impossible that the new droplinks have come loose a tiny bit after being driven on. Have had it happen to myself, makes one hell of a clunk for such a small amount of looseness. While you've the front of the car off the ground give everything a good shake and you'll eventually find something loose.

Also do the 9-3 and 12-6 wiggle tests while the front is off the ground to check for any play there.
