Women's soccer on BBC website

I use the BBC Football RSS feed but in the last two years the site seems to be pushing Women's Football more and more. I'd be surfing away at something (porn) and next minute I'd get a new story on my feed with something like "Bristol City win Champion's League". My initial reaction is WTF?!?! and then after stopping what I'm doing and checking it I find out it's that nonsensical "sport". Bloody hell I follow football to get away from them for a while and get some peace!!!

I mean it's worse than getting "news" about the IFA Premiership or, shudder, the League of Ireland!!! At least with them I recognise the names and hit "Mark As Read" immediately. Not so with women's soccer though as it has all the branding of the real Premiership.

I mean what are they doing playing football anyway? It's not getting the tea made is it? :D But seriously is there anyone out there who has a solution?

In womens football, Irish players play for league winning teams.

OP is clearly one of those "LAD" types.

An attempt to defend women's football would be wasted on him.

Thread hasn't long to live I'd say. OP must be devastated he isn't getting the reaction he wanted.

  • My apologies lads! I detest the amateur stuff showing up with the proper footie in RSS feeds. Was simply trying to make my point in a humorous way! Sorry.

Don't know what you can about the womens football on your RSS feed OP. I wouldn't want it there either tbh as I don't follow.

Don't mind the pc brigade. They love any opportunity.

You weren't very funny. That's about it.

So you're whinging because the BBC doesn't cater specifically for your needs.

    Write a letter.

The BBC's coverage of Women's football far outweighs the public's desire for it. They are the national broadcaster though.

Perfectly reasonable question to ask if it can be removed from the RSS feed. I don't know a thing about them (RSS feeds) OP so can't help. I presume nobody else knows either.

Most of the men's leagues are finished for the summer, there's no major international tournament running. What else do you expect to pop up in your news feed? More stupid rumours about transfers and managers getting the sack?

I hate the word 'footie' when used to describe soccer/football.
