    If you got ban in DC the ban starts after 14 days no matter if you send licence away, (unless you requested postponement) if the ban was on appeal to Circuit Court then ban starts straight away (unless you ask for postponement.

    Ask your solicitor or District Court office what do you do with licence.

    I'll be honest, a three year ban and 2 pints does not really sound correct. But in any case, you can call the motor tax office and ask to be put through to whoever deals with endorsements and disqualifications and they can tell you where to send it.

    Banned for 3 years after drinking 2 pints? Are you sure you didn't drink two pint and then get involved in a 120mph police chase culminating in you slamming into a bunch of pedestrians?

    I was in a car last weekend with a friend who blew a fail after two pints (I was with him when he had them. Yes. It was just two). I had also had two, and rather than leave his car on the side of the road, I asked the Guard to test me to see if I was OK to drive it. I passed. Registered on the handheld device as clear. Anyway, a very routine arrest and a trip to a Garda station followed. Where he passed after his alcohol limit barely registered on the evidentiary machine.

    Two pints? Really, OP? Two pints of whisky?

    In fairness OP, you mentioned the fact that you only had two points and had gotten a three year ban based on this amount. The lenght of ban seems incongruous with the amount of drink consumed.

    Contact the cleck of the court where you appeared, but in all likelyhood you will have to send your licence to the motor tax office in which it was issued.

    If considering the lenght of ban, you were driving on a learners permit or did not have any licence at all; the ban term is stalled and only begins running once you either renew or get a licence/learners permit.

    OP is full of $hit. A three year ban must have resulted in a serious serious offence like being in an accident while drunk or caught speeding while plastered. I know a few people who got put of the road for this infraction or other but 3years!

    What did you really do??? 2 pints my arse.

    A 3 year ban can result from drink driving alone in fact the minimum ban for a drink driving where no sample is taken is 4 years. 3 years is the minimum for a reading in the higest scale which I would agree be hard to get on 2 pints.

    (a) Exceeding 150 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood;
    (b) Exceeding 200 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine;
    (c) Exceeding 66 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
    Per s.26 of the RTA 1961 (as amended) the above are the current concentrations which will result in a three year disqualification on a first offence for drunk driving.

    Assuming that the OP is 18 years of age, and if he slammed two empirical pints of beer at about 4% strength within a period of of five minutes, it should be possible to work out his approximate mass (assuming no other factors to affect the outcome).

    EDIT: I am no scientist, but here are the results extrapolated from an online BAC calculator:
