BM18113 bulb socket

Hi, I found this bulb's socket in my new house, see attachment. I do not know what kind of bulb goes there or if the socket is simply broken. It could be an adjustable light as the switch is circular and it would seem you can set the intensity. Can you identify it? Kind regards, Dean De Leo

Appears to be a standard bayonet cap type.
