Xsara hard to start

    i have a citreon xsara and when driving it it looses power and when im parked on a hill facing u it get hard to start and when it dose start i have to keep a good rev on it .. i have changed the fuel filter and nothing changed ........... Any got any ideas what might be wrong .

    Sounds like the clutch is worn out. Not normally a DIY job, I'm afraid.

    You really should have started a new thread instead of resurrecting a 4 year-old one. Welcome to Boards anyway! :)

    Hard to start, or hard to get moving once started?

    If it's hill related, then it could possibly be air in the fuel line?
    Is it a diesel? If so, can you try the hand pump in the engine bay and see if that improves things?

    Do you ever notice the revs rising a little bit for no reason?

    I'd clean the maf and tb, just to rule those out.
