Building Regs applicability to downsizing house

I have planning for a four bedroom house from a couple of years ago. Due to changes in circumstances I'm looking at now building the same floorplan house but instead of four beds it will have three. The extra bedroom will be significantly reduced to be a storeroom and the space saved will be given to the other bedrooms.

My question is I don't want to put a window in the storeroom but as the house was given planning as a four-bed will I be made to treat the storeroom as a bedroom and fit a bedroom sized window? I am expecting that I will have to lodge a part V after the build for the change in the exterior windows (confirmed this with the planners and they were okay with this). The build is in a rural area where the nearest neighbour is a mile away.

However my architect keeps telling me to treat the storeroom as a fourth bedroom for if I ever want to sell it so I must put the window in. I never plan on selling it and if I ever did I would be prepared to go back to planning to address the lack of a window.

Am I okay to continue without the window or do I need to have the planning updated for the house and reduce it to a three bed officially?

    Thanks,

I'd put the window in from the start. So much easier and you can still use it as a store room internally. In regards to planning, you are altering the external look of the building so my guess would be that technically, you need to apply for a new permission but i could be wrong.
