    Hi all,
Planning on getting a second hand Ford S-Max in soon. Hoping to spend less then 13000 for something with less than 90000 miles on the clock and 2007 or newer. Is there any issues that i need to look for?
Does this look like an ok deal http://cars.donedeal.co.uk/for-sale/cars/5015535 ?
    thanks,
    Jimmy

Dual Mass Flywheel or DMF is a very common failure on that 1.8 litre TDCi engine. The S-Max is pretty much a Mondeo underneath. Titanium model was very expensive over here so there is a high chance that car was imported from the UK so check the speedo if it has mph/kmph dials then it was a UK car so make sure it has some sort of service history to validate the low mileage.

Thanks - regarding engine size is there much difference in power between the 2.0 vs 1.8?

Except for minor leaks(and DMF), I found them to be pretty reliable, and easily the best driving of any MPV.
Make sure all the keys work, and there is a master key.

Some niggles: Center console comes loose, Handbrake lever comes apart. Boot wont close. Engine management software does strange things...check software version at dealer.

for what its worth this looks like good value to me. would agree with bazz regarding possible import but as long as history checks out this is good value for a top spec smax. nice car aswell
