    Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has bought the new Mitsubishi Space Star out since the start of this year? Thinking of getting one myself.

Does anyone have any practical experience of this car - what it's like to own and drive?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Did you buy one? I am planning to buy the same car.

There's better cars out there. I had a loan of one when I'd a car being serviced - it's like a late 90s Toyota. What's your budget and annual mileage/use?

I am planning to buy a new car.

    My shortlist is

    Mitsubishi Space star - 15K
    Renault Clio - 18K
    Opel Corsa(SE) - 19K

I really like the look of Clio but then I am thinking of buying a space star, use it for 3 years and then upgrade for a big car.

The new space star - is it good?

+1, its a poor effort from mitsubishi. Good for emerging economies or whatever but European customers are used to better.

Something like the Hyundai i10 or i20 /kia picanto/rio would be much better.

Thanks. What are your views on Clio?

I quite like them, but not a chance I'd spend €18k on one.

Under 19K, what's the best new car right now? I want mileage and looks.

    By mileage you mean mpg?

If looks were a factor, how did the Space Star get into the shortlist?

I'd consider a Fiesta 1.5 tdci zetec. - but spending €19k on a small car wouldn't be something I'd do.

€19k gets you a lot of nice stuff.

Something like this might be possible. You'd probably get the more basic model new straight cash for 19k.

I had space star in the list as I thought if I want a budget car and not looks, I will get this. By mileage I meant mpg.

Thanks. But I will be buying one with a loan. Pay something like 3K now and the remaining EMI.

If that's the route you're going then a VW/Seat/Skoda is probably what you'll get the best interest rate on through VW bank.

Then I am going to reconsider skoda fabia again..

But the new fabia isn't exactly a looker

I think I read that Kia are doing 0% Interest on some of their cars.

I'd knock the Corsa off the list too, the current model is nearly 9 years old and the "new" model out soon is just a heavily revised version of the current one.

New Hyundai i20 out now too and new Fabia out soon but neither are as good looking as the Clio.

Are they doing it off the cash price or rrp? Skoda I know will discount the car first, and then offer you finance on the 'cash' price
