Oh dear, bought a new Regatta 4 man tent from Argos (€100 off currently) but as its our first tent we are struggling to put it up!
I presume the ground sheet goes down first but its then got an inner and outer tent. How are these connected? The poles go through the outer tent only yes?Any tips or advice please?I feel a bit foolish right now.

Lay out the inner in its basic Square shape. Thread the polls through the sheath in a criss cross, one corner to the other.

As the polls are longer than the sheath, they'll be forced into bend.

Place your outer over this and tie into place. Peg down and your done.

Theres also hundreds of tutorials on YouTube.

Thanks for reply Gokei. You make perfect sense to me.The thing is, the outer tent has the canvas sheaths through which the poles go.They are colour coded to show which poles go where. There ARE small breaks in the sheaths so maybe the inner tent clips on to these from the inside?Gonna try it again this evening.I did look on you tube but none of the tutorials had the poles going through the outer tent, only the inner as you said.
    Thanks again, much appreciated.

one of our tents has that, you put up the poles as described and then tie the inner tent to the poles. Then you throw the top cover over it and tie again. One of the poles the creates the front porch did have to go through a narrow opening in the tent and then be bent into arch.
Yours could be different and as you said, poles go through the outer tent layer, just lay out the inner tent FIRST and peg the corners to make a taught square, THEN do the top bit with the poles. The ends of poles usually have holes in them to put the little pointed bits that are at the corners of the tent into them, that helps to keep them from sliding off. If there's none, there might be a ring at the corners and you can stick the poles inside that ring, that will also help the poles from sliding.
