You want to kill the herbs? Or kill something around the herbs?

You can't do that, there is not a weedkiller that will differentiate between a dandelion and a basil. They are both broad-leaved plants and therefore will be killed by a weedkiller for broad-leaved plants. The only exception is one for use in grass, I don't understand why but you can kill the broad leaf stuff without damaging the grass.

The best you can do is hand weed round the herbs - you wouldn't want to spray something you are going to eat with weedkiller anyway - and save the weedkiller for areas where there are no plants that you want to keep.
