    Anyone know where I can buy a few decent leek plants in Dublin?

    Leeks are usually grown from seed as (like most aliums) they don't take transplantaion well.

    You could still sow a few, then when they are the size of a small scallion (~20 cm) water them heavily and prepare an area for them by driving the handle of a spade into the bed about 15cm about 30 cm apart. Lift the seedlings and drop one into each hole, now fill the holes to the top with water.
