I have a TV where you tune the channels in within the settings. It has the saorview and all built in. Have the BBCs and ITVs and channels 4,5 and things like yesterday and really.

Want to know how you go about getting the HD ones and any other ones I could get. I seem there was a thread stickied with frequencies and all that but I don't understand.

    Thanks.

If you do an auto tune, the tv should find everything that's available to it. Yesterday & Really are not available free on satellite, so it would seem to be terrestrial UK (Freeview) we're dealing with.

What's the make & model? It probably can't handle the DVB-T2 Freeview HD transmissions.

The operating instructions are for an LCD television either a...

    TX-L32E5B
    TX-L37E5B
    TX-L42E5B
    TX-L47E5B

So it is some one of those.

That tv has the tuner for Freeview HD.

It's listed in the 'Features' section of the manual as 'DVB-T2 tuner built-in [UK only]', so you probably need the country set to 'UK' for it to find the Freeview HD services.

So if you changed it to the uk would you lose the irish saorview channels?

Assuming you currently have it set to Ireland, & it was happy to tune in the Freeview SD services, then it will more than likely tune in Saorview & put it wherever Freeview is now.

I can't say for sure that a non-UK country setting is blocking Freeview HD, but it's worth trying an autotune with UK setting.

I have a Samsung TV with Freeview HD tuner. If I set the country to UK (I'm based in Wexford), it picks up the UK Freeview stations, including the HD versions and it also picks up the Saorview stations but puts them at the bottom of the epg at random numbers beginning with 0801, 0802 etc.

Can't you change the order though to move them up?

Samsung tvs allow you to move channels around to your own liking. Not sure about Panasonic.

I'm not sure how I can change it to uk. Do you have to reset the TV or something? It doesn't come up in settings. Just the option of manual tuning and auto tuning.

You will need to restore the tv to shipping condition: menu > setup > system menu > shipping condition.

Should be on p.51 of the manual.
