Tranferring money from Irish to Canadian account

I'm in Toronto for the summer, and have set up a canadian bank account with ScotioBank. I want to transfer money from my BOI account to my ScotiaBank account as it will be easier for me to have my money accessible from a local bank. I'm just wondering what might be the best way to go about moving funds between the accounts? Does anybody know if would be cheaper to use electronic funds transfer, with the charges that it incurs, or withdraw the cash here and then re-deposit it in my local account?

Or perhaps I'd be better off just keeping it in my BOI account.
