I am looking to fill in some empty gaps on my CAO and am quite interested in the BA in Politics. Just wondering if people have some information on it such as class size, lecturer quality, broadness of content covered in the course etc. Thanks for any help guys. :)

    Hello!
I'm just finished first year in it. Had two brilliant lecturers and two not so great ones. Class size was around fifty, so small enough. Made really good friends in the course because the class sizes were smaller. The tutor, Ania for my tutorials was great as well.

I think that this year they are opening up the course into Arts so the class size will increase.
I'm keeping it on next year.
The modules focus on political theory and political institutions rather than any current political debate in first year anyway. There is an option to choose a module on globalisation or EU institutions.
Plenty of craic within the group as theres a good bit of discussion going on.

Thanks a million for the reply Reux :) it sounds pretty good, especially like that it is a small class. Did you take it as part of PPE or as the denominated course? I am thinking of taking philosophy as my second subject. And also do you find the views of the people taking it pretty diverse? I am a little left wing and don't want to look like a nut job to the rest of the class. :P
