    Hi all,

    Does anyone buy bitcoins regularly?
    Are there any Irish sellers?
Where is the handiest, most reputable place to get them?

    Thanks

    To reply to myself,
I ordered some on localbitcoins.com from an Irish seller.
Will update when they come through.

Me too :D Don't think Bitcoins are the way to go, lots of people believe it's a bubble going to burst... Hard to tell. If it dropped down below 80 again I'd buy a good few. Breaks my heart that during the summer they were like 15 quid each, and I had sold a few dozen during that time.

The bitcoins came through. I'd recommend that site.

Intersango.com is handy too if you don't mind waiting a few days for the coins

Honestly buddy I wouldn't recommend it, they can be a right nightmare and have disappeared for weeks at a time. MtGox will allow you to buy via SEPA transfer but yuu mustn't use Tor to access their site or they'll ask you for identity information.

You're far better off going to localbitcoins dot com and looking for a local seller. I do have a few left if you get desperate, PM me and I'll create an advert on adverts.ie so we can be above board.

I can do you one better - when I first came to Ireland in October I had over 1100 coins which I'd bought back when they were worth around five Euros each in order to trade in them. Sadly I had to sell them just when there'd been a big crash in value - as you can imagine I was a little upset when they shot up to $235 each, still you live and learn!

There doesn't seem to be any long term solution to the Bitcoin's volatility but I would say the pros outweigh the cons. Hopefully soon we'll be able to use them to pay for a coffee in Starbucks, dare to dream. :)
