    Does anybody know how to convert a MKV file into mp4 or something that i can watch on windows media player?

    I think you can do it with VLC in command-line mode. There are probably other solutions, Google!

    it should play if you have the correct codecs installed
    quick search shows this helpful detail

    Or just use VLC

    no need to convert
