    Hi all,

I brought my parents a 1tb external HD for use recording coronation street etc....

But if they record on a HD station (well that I have noticed so far) the recording stops after about 25 mins with a message about insufficient speed..

Anyone recommend an alternative drive? Is it that the drive is too big that the seek times are impacted?

Is your hard drive USB powered or externally powered? Reading previous posts the latter is better.

I have a "Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 3.5" 1.5 TB" which works with a Triax.

Also I have this USB which has high Read/Write speeds: "Patriot Supersonic 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive".

Have you had any luck with this setup? I bought one of the Walker boxes recently and it only records about half the programmes I set it to record. Do you or anyone else know if this is a common problem with the box or is it more likely to be a problem with the hard drive? The HD I have doesn't have it's own external power supply which users have reported before as a problem so I'd be willing to get one if needed but there's no point if the box is the problem not the HD.
