We will be arriving in Dublin from Singapore in Oct-2013 and are quite anxious about the admission for our 4.5 year old son for whom we are trying admission for Junior Infants.

Any ideas if schools in DUblin will admit a student at that time, given that the schools start either in end of Aug or early Sept.
if anyone has experienced this problem and know of any possible options please advise.

    Good Luck.

It really depends on the school if you get a place but children here start school at 4 or 5 so do not worry too much.
It depends on what month his birthday is ,where you are moving to and in some cases what religion you are.
some schools names need to be down at birth, some may have space.

If his birthday is after march/april you may be better holding off until next year.

Any schools in the community/area that you'll be living in in October, will have to enrol your son if they have room.

If the worst comes to the worst remember he could do the free preschool year here. Google ECCE scheme.
School here starts on the 28th August this year and runs until the end of June.
