laying floor insulation costs

    Have two lads putting down 2inch and 6inch floor insulation 1000 guage polythene and taping in my self build area 2800sqft. Roughly how much would i expect to pay them?

    Did you not sort out a price before they began?

    It might be difficult to negotiate now they are under way...if it's a price job will they cut corners to finish early? If it's on day rate will they slow up to make it last?

    Best to get it sorted before they get much further.

    They are just neighbouring lads that are doing while they are free between jobs. They are both carpenters. They wont be asking too much. I know I should have agreed a price beforehand but i let it pass. I dont want to be mean and i dont want them to think im soft or generous. I will be hoping to get a price for the second fixing from them in the near future.

    €1.70 M.sq is the going rate. Approx 260 M.sq = €442
