Sandyford View, Kilcross, Sandyford

Hello,

I´m considering to move to an apartment in the area of Kilcross close to Sandyford View. I´ve read here that Kilcross has social housing, so I would like to know opinions in terms of living standard in the estate, anti social behaviour, transports and if it´s safe walking through the estate.

I would really appreciate your help.

While I would be no fan of council estates that paints a very bad picture of Kilcorss which is not, to be fair, as bad as it used to be. Most of the kids who grew up in the area have grown up and moved out and the parents are getting on now. There's still young kids there but it's a relatively quiet place at the moment. Secondly, Sandyford View is not even in Kilcross but in fact in a different series of complexes accessed from the Grange Road.

There are four complexes in the area starting with Ticknock Hill at the top, followed by Rockview, Sandyford View and Bracken Hill. There's a walkway that will bring you through to Kilcross Sq which are new and private resdinces accessed via Kilcross estate and finally Kilcross itself. I live in Ticknock Hill and it's a great place to live and mostly owner occupied. The other three complexes seem to have more rented property but are generally pretty good.
