    Hi,

I might be getting a bit of work (a few months maybe a little more) on a RTC cert and I have a couple questions about these.

    1.
    How do they work?

    2.
Will it affect me if i need to sign back on the welfare when the work dries up?

    Thanks for all your answers

    Kevin.

I assume you mean Relevant Contracts Tax RCT. This a withholding tax system that operates in the construction industry between principle contractor and a subcontractor.

The eRCT system works as follows:
The principle registers the contract on ROS. Then before a payment is due the principle enters a payment notification on ROS and the system tells them how much tax to deduct if you are properly registered with Revenue and your affairs are up to date then there may be no deduction.

Your social welfare contributions will dictate your SW entitlements.
