Head full of shampoo last night and I thought I could smell that distinctive electronics burning smell. Looked blearily through the soap to see white smoke coming from my old (15+ yrs) Mira Sport. Our other bath is also out of operation so under a bit of pressure to get this resolved fast.

After shopping around I picked up a new model Mira Sport Max 10.8kW mains fed from B&Q for €268 (19% off sale right now). How concerned should I be about the existing wiring gauge for that power?

Surely our old Mira Sport wasn't that powerful. Ripping out the existing wiring is not on the table. We're in a semi-D and the distance of the wiring is not very long.
