Just wondering what amount of training (hours or distance) cat 4 racers do per week on average? What average speed are you doing on this training?

Started doing sportives this year but might be interested in joining a clib and getting into racing next year.

    Any other advice or guidance?

Base Endurance - 12 - 14 hrs per week, Winter Months
Build Phase - 9 - 12 hrs per week, Spring
Peak Period 7-10 hrs per week, Now + Races.

    Training - Base 25 - 27km/h
    Build over 30km/h
    Peak 30 - 34km/h

All this weather dependant, terms of wind!

Get into club races now, regardless of fitness, get an idea of training from lads, and maybe a training partner or two for the winter months. Cuts out alot of messing!

Just cut back on the fags and limit the high stool to twice a week..........mid week if you wanna race. When you get to A3 you nearly have to stop both, A3 just knocks the craic out of it..........them fcukers are a bit serious:)
