    Hello,

I'm thinking or signing up to some CPD courses this summer. They seem to be about €90each. Can anyone recommend any that they found helpful. They Educate Together ones seems pretty good.

    Cheers

    Are they all primary?

    Any course titles?

I always find it funny how many summer courses are available for primary teachers but not for second level. Why is that?

because primary used to (I think) get time off during the year in lieu of summer courses. 2nd level didnt

Presumably to do with their EPV days? I would much prefer to get EPV days than personal days which are a pain to use. I'd also like to have the opportunity to complete a summer course of my own free will!

I agree with all of the above.

I wouldn't even want to be able to take a personal day.

The odd day course would be a good thing to do.

Probably the wrong thread but the one thing that really annoys me about the present Croke park hours is the lost opportunity that everybody on staff would upskill in some way every year if they were allowed to count them towards the 33 hours.

Get onto your principal. Our union reps lobbied the principal to get some hours recognised this year

In the next few years CPD will be compulsory for all teachers- and on your own time.

Bron Orm, it very much depends on what you need to upskill in.

I have found Hibernia’s online CPD courses very good. I did one of the numeracy courses, I can see it being very helpful when I start back at school in September and I will get the EPV days too :)
