Thats what I was thinking too. Surely all Ocean salty water would not do any favours.

judging by it being mostly 90s commerical / offroad vehicles Id say its on its way to africa, and they dont seem like the type of customers to pay for containers or insurance...

That Hilux didn't even have a handbrake on. The phrase "complete luders" springs to mind. Ever hear of chains lads?? Curwa!

Most of the time cars are imported on roll on roll off ships similar to the ones between the uk and Irl.

You'd only use a container if you were importing cars one at a time and in a route that no Ro Ro ships were operating on.

    Costed on volume you see

I've never seen a jap import come in here on a ship like that. They are normally under deck on RORO carriers. In saying that its also another reason why you shouldnt scrimp on the extra 100 it costs for insurance and only paying FOB shipping.

anytime i imported from japan they were ro/ro (roll on /roll off) ....you can ship by container but you would have to be putting in cars i think it was to make it worth while....oh and the insurance isn't worth the paper it is written on
