What should I be paying?

I'm in the market for a BMW 520D SE or M-Sport but I don't know what I should reasonably be looking to buy one for.

What should I be paying for the below from a dealer with a 12 month warranty and a FSH?

    2007 BMW 520D SE or M-Sport
    60-80k miles
    Leather upholstery
    Automatic

Are cars of this type on Cars Ireland, Carzone, Autotrader overpriced? Some people have said this to me but I wouldn't be so sure they know what they're talking about.

    Any advice appreciated.

PS I know there will be a price difference between the SE and the M-Sport.

The LCI (BMW talk for facelift) will be worth a little more than a pre LCI models. I'd say you will be talking about €14k to €14.5k for a standard 2007 SE auto and up to €16k for a M Sport depending on the exact spec. You could pay more for a low mileage mint example though but remember that you are looking at a 6 year old diesel car so it is not going to be unusual for the majority of these to be having 100k miles on them.

Also the LCI model was introduced in early 2007 but was sold with the older 163bhp engine and auto box up until late 2007. This was then replaced by the newer 177bhp engine and new 8 speed auto box so these might demand a bit more money. But if it were me I would avoid the newer engine and stick with the less troublesome 163bhp version.

Thanks for the input. In the links below there are a selection of cars that fit my criteria. The majority are from 16k upwards.

No doubt there is some over pricing on the websites however alot of people talk sh1t about prices and what cars are worth.
Just cause you can buy a horsed mega mile version on donedeal cheap doesnt mean they should all be cheap.

Yeah that might be the case alright. A friend of mine got a 07 M-Sport for 16.5k recently with a 12 month warranty and about 60k on the clock. Immaculate car but I've heard comments from two people who "know" cars that it was overpriced. I just can't figure it out!

I know a guy like that. Talking about the great prices he pays. He always ends up buying cars with 150k+ miles and then has to throw them away when they start to cost a few bob. He will then call all those models heaps of scrap.

Newer 8 Speed gearboxes only came out with the F10 model. E60 still had the standard 6 speed auto right up until 2010.

In answer to your question - a lot less than you actually will. One of the most overrated cars on the road with a price to match.
