    Doesn't sound too bad tbh.

p.s. As in all insurance quotes there's no shortcut - you must ring around and shop for value.

In all fairness, I have to say that ringing in my case was just an utter waste of time - all the operators would do was to run the same kind of quote the website(s) gave me, matching to the cent...except for Chartis, whose website gave me a quote but the operator simply told me they don't do first time insurances.

What you can maybe do, OP, is try with a broker - you might get lucky and find a lower quote. I would still not expect anything below 1200-1300 euro in the best case, though.

if i could get a quote for 1200- 1300 i would be over the moon.dont think its gonna happen though, have tried a few brokers as well, looks like 2000 is the best im going to get.

Looks like you'll have to go with it. You don't happen to have any kind of driving experience that can be counted as "named driver", by any chance? Is this the very first time you drive?
