Altentor pully squeeking

    My altenator pully is squeeking like mad these days, its really loud, never been done with 160,000 miles on, does it need replacing or would a bit of grease do the trick.

    Presumably its an overrun damper pulley that's on it if its only the pulley that's making noise. If so, they can be replaced on their own.

    To the best of my knowledge the pulley can't be freed up. Once they seize we always just replace them.
