Was anyone else aware that we had an astronaut poster in our midst?

This guy is about to go on a space trip apparently.

I've already sent him a pm, asking him to bring me back a bar of space rock.

Surely the best excuse boards has ever witnessed?

Yussssssss, I had a balloon float away about 7 years ago but never had any contacts in the space trade before to reclaim it. It's been such an ordeal wondering just where it's been and what it's had to endure. Such a relief to be reunited with it now :D

I probably should've read the link first. Only 2 days, that's nowhere near long enough to track it down :(

doesn't make any sense, astronauts use satellite phones and communicate via the KU band frequency.

    Was it Alan Shatner ?

Asthma must be a bitch in space.

no, a different frequency. Not a different network provider. The link states that astronauts are equipped to communicate via the ku frequency.

Reminds me of a chat-up line (that I just made up now):

I'm no astronaut, but I'd like to visit Uranus! :pac:

    *Cue swooning of womenfolk

I saw that earlier and thought the "I plan a space trip in 2 days" was a complete typo. If there was an Irish astronaut about to leave, surely it would have been big news. I know that some of the excuses in the Talk To 3 forum to try to get out of a contract can be a bit suspect but that has to take the biscuit!
