Then again, if Minister Shatter turns up and starts speaking, then the 2 minutes turns into an eternity :)

how long would you like it to take? you could prolong it by singing a patriotic song i suppose...It takes two minutes between reciting the oath chatting with with the judge and getting a round of applause from the criminals..what you do with 960e is your business

You're a couple of years behind or my flux capacitor just kicked in...

@op: around 40 minutes or so.
    Queue
    Mad rush up 3 floors
Find your desk number, get naturalisation cert
    Move into auditorium
    Chat chat chat
    Curtains raise
Army band gets jiggy (they're bloody great tbh)
Stand for presentation of the Irish flag
    Speech
    Ministers speech
    Another speech
    Take the oath
    Another speech
    End

    Great event all in all.

Ah I see what you mean but here in Tipperary the initiation rite was still taking place in the District Court up until very recently..no fanfare or trumpets but I see Dublin is gone posh....

Guys, can anybody tell me how long it was before they were called about this ceremony etc?? I applied for the citizenhsip 18 months ago and heard nothing since. I think it could take up to 23 months or something...My friend thinks my letter got lost as I should have heard from them at this stage. I got solicitor to write to them but again heard nothing....Appreciate any info in advance..
